I run dynasty baseball contract leagues. I have one team that will be available for sure, this team is GOOD, the team ended with the best record overall and second in total points. I am also taking a waiting list as I expect more teams to open before January.
I run two leagues, one of the leagues is VERY active and I will require your fantasy history as well as references, we like to keep this league strong and don't want to allow just anyone in it. Don't send me emails stating that you won your league 16 years in a row, I don't care if you win or lose as long as each owner stays active ALL YEAR LONG despite winning or losing. The good team mentioned above is in the very active league.
The league is set up playing from a 25 man roster (daily), each team also carries a 15 man minor league system that is available to them. Each team may have up to 4 "option players", just like the MLB option players can go from a teams minors to majors on a daily basis.
We play a 19 week season (3 different opponents a week) followed by 3 rounds of playoffs (each round last 2 weeks).
The off season starts week 26 of the baseball season at that time we have a league meting where owners may suggest rule changes & we vote on them, this period last about a month. After it is over owners may trade palyers under contract. Janruray starts our off season activities that include arbitration, a deadline to resign three players from the year before & a Rule V draft.
February starts our free agency period where owners participate in an open auction that last about a month.
Just like the MLB owners will fight over players they would like to have on their squad.
In March is the player draft.
So as you can see just about the whole year is token up with time for this kind of league. If you do not have this kind of time, please don't even apply for a team.
The owners who fit best for these leagues are owners who have lots of computer time (but I have seen owners who don't succeed), owners who are a competitive fantasy player & owners who are a die hard baseball fan. Knowing minor league players is a MUST!
I have started the original league back in 2006, in the past two years four more have been started, they are popular once an owner joins, but are not for everyone!
For complete rules send an email to Ickpoc@aol.com.
Also available on AIM at Ickpoc.
From now until the start of week 25 I will be taking applications for the good team available, the owner who I think will fit the league the best will be notified during the 25th week of the baseball season.
